Cheese and Sage Bread
Ingredients
- 100g plain flour
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- Salt
- 50g or so cheddar or parmesan
- Handful age leaves
- A pinch of cayenne
- Black pepper
- 100g natural yogurt
Method
- 1Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt into a large bowl
- 2Shred sage leaves and grate the cheese. Add both to the flour mix. Season with a pinch of cayenne and a few twists of black pepper.
- 3Mix in yoghurt till it becomes a soft dough. Knead briefly till smooth. Form into a round loaf and make a cross on the top.
- 4Bake at 200 degrees for 20-25 minutes until it sounds hollow when tapped
- 5on its base.
